1. For mechanical protection, the internal layer of Standard Fabric Expansion Joints is either glass fabric or wire mesh.
2. Where medium temperatures are above **0°C,T.C.IFabric Expansion Joints are de-signed with one or more layers of insulation material for thermal protection.
3. If the medium conveyed is aggressive, a gastight membrane serves as a chemical barrier. 
4. The outer layer primarily functions as a protection against ambient and mechanical influences, and as a pressure reinforcement.

5. Flange reinforcement for mechanical and thermal protection of the fabric expansion joint in the flange area.
